Puzzle Challenge Days

'We had been full of anticipation and excitement about our Happy Puzzle day and we were not disappointed. Throughout the sessions, students were completely engrossed and engaged with their team problem solving. The collaboration and determination needed to complete tasks was at the right level for each class that attended. The presenter was very professional, knowledgeable and a delight to work with.'

Brain Blaster - Think... Communicate... Solve!

Foundation Stage | KS1 | KS2 | KS3 | KS4 | 16-19

Brain Blaster is a completely new concept in school workshops. Nothing like this have ever been done before! With your students in teams, it uses bizarre maths, 3D team challenges, blindfolded fishing and much more... all in your school hall, and with up to 300 of your students per day.

The theories are based on Art L Costa's 'Habits of Mind' - a series of life skills which every person needs in order to confront and overcome problems and challenges and operate effectively in society.

This highly interactive set of workshops will help to arm your students with the skills to work through real life challenges and situations, allowing them to respond with awareness, creativity and deliberate strategies, in order to achieve a positive outcome. It will help them to become resilient and encourage them to persevere.

Every student is good at something. As teachers, you want to help each one to find out what that is, and then nurture it. However, you don’t just want your students to be good at what they do, you want them to be AWESOME at it, and we are about to help YOUR students to get there.

At the end of each of our workshops, students are asked what they feel they have learned that will help them in the future. Almost always, we hear the same three answers...

    "Never give up!"

"That nothing needs to be impossible."

"The importance of working as a team."

These are powerful messages that cover the entire curriculum as well as life outside the classroom.

Suddenly, students realise that it's ok to make the mistakes and that in many respects there is no such thing as a 'wrong' answer. If an answer is not quite right, we can use that to drive us in the right direction towards reaching our goal.

It's learning without a pen and paper and it gives teachers a rare opportunity to take a step back an watch their students in action. Often, it's the students that you least expect to excel, who turn out to be incredible leaders and the inspiration that leads to the groups success.
