Brain Blaster - Think... Communicate... Solve!

Escape The Smart House is a brand-new concept in school challenge workshops which has been devised in partnership with Playroom by SMART. Sitting at the front of the hall is The Smart House. Students then have the length of the workshop to try and escape the house by solving a series of hands-on 3D challenges and team skills. Room by room, students aim to solve challenges in their teams, and with each challenged solved, they get part of a clue which will help them unlock a final padlock to escape. All of the resources used in the programme encourage team skills, problem solving, maths skills, logical deduction as well as resilience. This new and original concept brings all the fun of an escape room into your school hall. We understand that the learning doesn’t stop as soon as your booking is over. That’s why, as part of every Escape The Smart House booking, we also give your school three months free access to The Playroom by SMART which is an online portal developed with teachers in mind. Your students can take part in a range of digital challenges, chosen by skill or subject, and the best part is that through the teacher’s portal, you can monitor progress, select daily challenges and help students develop skills by utilising the challenge by skill section of the portal. This is a brilliant new digital way to make learning fun, and your school gets free access for a limited time with every booking of Escape The Smart House.

At the end of each of our workshops, students are asked what they feel they have learned that will help them in the future. Almost always, we hear the same three answers...

    "Never give up!"

"That nothing needs to be impossible."

"The importance of working as a team."

These are powerful messages that cover the entire curriculum as well as life outside the classroom.

Suddenly, students realise that it's ok to make the mistakes and that in many respects there is no such thing as a 'wrong' answer. If an answer is not quite right, we can use that to drive us in the right direction towards reaching our goal.

It's learning without a pen and paper and it gives teachers a rare opportunity to take a step back an watch their students in action. Often, it's the students that you least expect to excel, who turn out to be incredible leaders and the inspiration that leads to the groups success.
